Product FAQ
1. What are the differences between Web Reputation and Malicious Sites?

Web Reputation conducts URL filtering based on the reputation rating of a website. Differring from the Malicious Sites, it estimates the risks of access rather than tell it's malicious or not. Whether the access to be blocked is determined by the risk rating given by users. In gateway products, severity rating being hard to set plus the indirect interaction between the gateway and endusers, results in a big headache of false positives. Unlike anti-virus inspection and malicious sites fitering, the logs of Web Reputation should not be the evaluation standard of detection rate for anti-virus gateways, and anti-virus standards shall not be applied to evaluate the false positive rate.

2. What is cloud security? What barriers will anti-virus gates confront after utilizing cloud security?

    ► Features of cloud security
Server based signature database and anti-virus filtering
        ■ Benefit: low requirements on client-side memory and computing ability
    ► Barries facing anti-virus gates
        ■ All URLs are required to be sent to the server for inquiry.
        ■ Inquiry result might not be able to be sent back within the delay time.
        ■ Pressure brought by a huge amout of concurrent inquiries.
        ■ Inquiry via file verification code might be incorrect.
        ■ Sending files to the server occupies too much bandwidth.
        ■ Still need non-file verification code scanning
► Anti-virus gates can make use of cloud security based on its own needs.
URL filtering might consider leveraging cloud security, while anti-virus
        inspection might not.
