Recently, Microsoft confirmed the existence of a new Excel
Zero-Day attack (eWeek, ZDNet, PCWorld).
Similar to previous Excel Zero-Day attacks, this new attack
seems to be targeted and small in distribution.
Anchiva detects the excel zero-day as Exploit/MSExcel.Agent
and Exploit/Excel.Mdropper. As of February 27, we have only
seen very few incidents of this new zero-day attack.
As reported by Microsoft, this new exploit affects
Microsoft Office 2000, Microsoft Office 2002, Microsoft
Office 2003, Microsoft Office 2007, Microsoft Office 2004
for Mac, Microsoft Office 2008 for Mac, and Open XML
File Format Converter for Mac.
